Spiritual Awakening
For the first time in human history, we can all choose to transform our separateness into a higher spiritual awakening. Awakening, however, can come and go until it is a more permanent state of enlightenment. This feeling of separateness lies at the root of our suffering.
An awakened human experiences no need for control. They become a witness to their thoughts. They become an observer of their body. They live in the reality of the present moment, whether pleasurable or painful.
Let’s define some terms. The meaning of enlightenment refers to a dissolving of one’s self as a separate being and a growing awareness or consciousness of our true inner self. Spiritual Awakening can mean the same as enlightenment, awakening, however, can come and go until you experience a more permanent state of enlightenment. Finally, ascension like spiritual awakening and enlightenment indicates movement to a higher level of consciousness.

We can look at the above three states as similar basically indicating a growing level of self consciousness or awareness of our true inner self and divinity. We transform from a feeling of separateness into a higher level of unity consciousness, both as individuals and as a human family.
What does this shift in conscious occurring upon the planet at this time mean? This phenomenon shows an increase in human consciousness happening since the Harmonic Convergence of 1987. The Harmonic Convergence, August 16 and 17, manifested as the world’s first globally synchronized meditation.
Barbara Hand Clow, The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind, states that planetary and human evolution has speeded up 20 times from 1999 – 2011. In 2011 evolution speeded up another 20 times. Beginning October 28 through 2012 time may speed up another 20 times.
Have you noticed time seems to be going by so fast? We also experience world events affecting us as a global community.
So you now understand, briefly, the shift occurring on a planetary scale.
