Divine Grace
When we choose to stay present with a painful feeling or sensation in our bodies, this pain represents what is real for us in the moment, i.e., the truth of our reality at that particular time. Then Divine Grace can enter to dissolve and heal your pain.
Rather then being aware and experiencing what occurs inside us, why do we deny, avoid, or numb these inner sensations?
Perhaps it is because in our Western society, we have been conditioned from childhood to ignore or push away any unpleasant feelings or pain. It takes a lot of practice and initially a person who has learned to do this for themselves to teach and assist us.
Before we learn to be successful at The Art of Staying Present our minds will take us off into the past or future or we may even pop out of our bodies, i.e., we disconnect from staying focused in our bodies on a particular sensation.
Our pain can only dissolve and heal when we stay connected to it. Even more important is our willingness to surrender to the pain. Our surrender allows space for Divine Grace. Only then can Divine Grace come in and dissolve and heal the pain. Be aware this involves no efforting or wanting to make something specific happen, even having no more pain.
We need a willingness to go to the core of the original pain within ourselves. We need a willingness for the revealing of any false thought forms i.e., beliefs we thought true, yet only keep us locked into pain if we persist in keeping these beliefs. For example is it more important to stay angry and blame someone else rather then staying with the feeling of anger inside ourselves and allowing the Divine Grace to enter it.
Before, we looked down into a pit of darkness of despair and hopelessness. Now we can choose to look upward into the face of Divine Grace like sunlight shining from above.
What will you choose? Will you continue denying, avoiding, or numbing yourself to your pain? This option keeps us locked into unbearable agony with no escape, whether we remain conscious or unconscious of this. Or perhaps you will choose to face, embrace, and allow Divine Grace into the heart of your pain. This then opens us to the possibly of experiencing, at some point, deep underlying peace
