In the beginning of my work, I matter-of-factly presumed that emotions were in the head or brain. Now I would say they are really in the body and are part of the body. Dr. Candace Pert, Molecules of Emotion
Change Your Emotions
Every time we have a thought, an emotion links to that thought. If our bodies contain our emotions then how do emotions affect our bodies and our health?
Science shows every emotion creates a chemical reaction in our brains, whether positive or “negative.” Emotions stimulate our hypothalamus, a gland at the top end of our brain stem. Chemical signals, neuropeptides, then release into our blood stream which in turn affect our endocrine system, organs and cells.
Did you know negative emotions lock into our cells? When this occurs cells no longer ingest proper nutrition and toxicity increases in our bodies compromising our health.
Research by the Institute of Heart Math found a link between the emotions and our heart. We have a brain in the heart. Heart Math found a magnetic field emitting from the heart 500-5000 times faster than our brains. Thus, this explains why emotions have such a powerful affect. In addition our brain entrains – follows our heart rather than the other way around. So even if you mentally edit your thoughts your emotions continue to affect our body.
Negative emotions affect our heart as well as the rest of our body. Positive emotions, however, increase harmony in our hearts.
Bruce Lipton, Biologist, The Biology of Belief believes by changing our beliefs our DNA changes. Furthermore, he says our emotions control our health rather than our DNA. Eastern yogis have also shown that what we think and feel affects our bodies.
How do we change our emotions to change our life/health/DNA?
In reference to the above question, the Institute of Heart Math did an experiment where some human placenta DNA placed in a container could be measured for changes in the DNA. 28 researchers received one vial of DNA. Each researcher had been trained how to generate and feel feelings, strongly.
Heart Math discovered that DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the researchers.
2. When the researchers felt gratitude, love and appreciation the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer.
In the above experiment, the “shut down” of the DNA reversed and switched back on with gratitude, joy and love.
Now we can see why we and our body feels shut down by negative emotions.
So by developing Inner Body Awareness – taking our awareness inside our body – we can understand the messages of our emotions, feelings, and sensations. We can then choose to change our life/change our health by changing our emotions. See previous blog article on Inner Body Awareness. https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/inner-body-awareness/
The positive magnetic field of our heart extends beyond our bodies to our environment. When our subconscious and conscious intents align, then together with a strong heartfelt feeling focused as being already accomplished, you can change your life.
Note: Remember a Law of the Universe – we attract what we focus on. Energy follows thought and emotions.
