How to Transcend Ego? Gifts Beyond Ego: Spiritual Awakening and Realization

How can we transcend ego? To lessen suffering, overcoming ego is imperative. Eckhart Tolle Transcend Ego Based Mind Ego separates us. It gives us a sense of identity. As individuals, we believe ourselves alone and separate. We strive to survive in a hostile world. We never consider we might transcend ego. Our parents and society ingrain us from an early age. We cope the best  we know how. So, we live our life from birth to death with fixed beliefs and emotions. We may, yet, have a parent, grandparent or mentor or teacher. They teach us at a young age about the beauty of life. At some point, healing, shamanism or other spiritual training draws us. Even more, we take part in inner experiences beyond ego-based thinking. This could be through recreational drugs or meditation. It might a near death experience “NDE” that shows us other dimensions. NDE people encounter feeling a connection with the whole universe. They bath in a love beyond words. They contact something greater: God; the Divine. Maybe they call it other names like Creator or a Higher Power. They become seekers, spiritual rather than religious or non-believers. Then they begin to transcend ego. We begin to Awaken from misery, depression or our former safe life. Our old friends no longer recognize us. They disappear like windblown leaves. Awaken: Transcend Ego Left Brain We begin a new journey. We gain freedom. We escape the prison cells of our left-brain logical thinking. When needed, we still have our left brain to do practical tasks. Yet, we no longer have constant critical thoughts running us. We experience right brain expanded thought. This include s other dimensional realties. We enjoy the life-giving quality of nature or animals feeling a greater connection. When the mind is imbalanced, it’s hard to perceive the truth about any situation. Balance your mind by being in the present. Meditate, breathe deeply, and ground yourself into the present moment. Paramahansa Yogananda, Autobiography of a Yogi What is Spiritual Awakening When we transcend ego, we may experience Awakening or even Self-Realization. Spiritual Awakening involves a physical change in our brains. Some people who visited Oneness University in India experienced this brain change. They took many courses. At some point, at the course or when they returned home a shift occurred. After that it took months or years for the shift to continue. Christian Opitz, Neurophysicist, measured some people’s brain patterns at Oneness University India. At first, I examined several participants of the 10-day deepening course. They had already gone through the 21-day course several months earlier. All showed … A greatly decreased level of activity in the parietal lobes. Also enhanced activity in the frontal lobes, with a dominance of the left frontal lobe.” With Spiritual Awakening, we begin living in the present moment more and more. The Awakened One Responds from the heart. The Unawakened one reacts from the head – Sri Bhagavan, Oneness University What is Self-Realization/Enlightenment? With Awakening, after many years, we may experience the beginnings of Realization. With Realization we feel being part of the collective humanity. We feel Oneness with humanity, nature and all life. Our minds shift to our hearts. We become heart centered. Our love extends beyond ourselves to loving all life. We dedicate our lives to service for the good of all humanity. Someone who has entered Realization has a sense of unity with the Divine. Our minds can never create Awakening or Enlightenment. Neither can force of personal will make it happen. If destined for us, both Awakening and Enlightenment occur in their own timing. It is quicker for some and slower for others. With Awakening we can fall out of it. This occurs if we allow our left brain or emotional reactions to again run our lives. “Remember, awakening or enlightenment is not a destination. It is only a journey, it’s a process, it’s a never-ending process.” Sri Bhagavan, Oneness University What type of experiences have you had? https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/ego-personality/  https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/overcome-ego/ How Do We Break The Habit Of Excessive Thinking? https://youtu.be/dTFDfR47dl4 BOOKS Michael David Lawrience is the author of Emotional Health: The Secret from Drama, Trauma, and Pain His book provides ways to improve emotional health, ease pain, and stress, heal physical and emotional abuse, and spiritual awakening. Overcome Ego Mind Chatter: Intuit and Feel Your Inner Body Sensations

Notice In the article “What is Ego Personality” I described ego and how we stay attached. On the one hand, we can live our whole life stuck in our ego. This gives us a false sense of safety. Also, ego has us believe we can control our life. We can overcome ego. Thoughts arise and as one fades another replaces it. Constant chatter/noise without stop. We have learned to accept these thoughts as our identity. This is an ongoing process with little or no cessation. Constant chatter. We grow to accept these thoughts as our identity; “I” “ME.” Alas, we never overcome ego. Will we accept forever ego Left Brain programmed auto response? “Two men looked out from prison bars. One saw the mud, the other saw stars.” Dale Carnegie, How to Stop Worrying and Start Living Overcome Ego Freeing ourselves of ego means Freeing ourselves of thought. Ego will only dissolve in the Light of Awareness. We go from focusing on the outside world. The world of survival and incessant accumulation. We choose entering our inner world. Our inner world consists of emotions, feelings and sensations. We pay Attention, Accept and Embrace this world to overcome ego. Right Brain Shift – Higher Connection We can develop and use our right brain more. Right brain or Higher Mind goes beyond ego mind. We may know it as Intuition, Higher Self or Soul. Our Intuition consists of extra sensitivity beyond our 5 senses. Intuition comprises many abilities. I describe the 4 basic ones: Inner knowing; seeing; hearing and feeling. Which one or ones do you experience? Intuition gives us higher insight into the next best step. This can be career, financial success, health or relationships. Begin to identify and use your intuition. Through experience you learn to trust. Over time you become one with intuition. You can choose what your left-brain thinking mind tells you. Or you can choose to overcome ego. Choose what drops in from right brain intuitive mind. Overcome Ego: Become a Witness Good News: We have the choice/power observing our thoughts like an outside witness. Are we in the past or the future? Have you ever been completely in the present moment? No thoughts arising. Experiencing. Beyond all thought. Perhaps, beauty of a flower or a person smiling. Have you ever got lost in the awe of a sunset? Do you remember the hypnotic nature of a flowing stream? Have you ever felt atonement with all nature: trees; mountains? No ego or “ME” exists. You have overcome ego. Only Us in quietude/peace. You and life become one. Overcome Ego: Embrace Your Inner Body Sensations Now bring attention to the inside of your body. What are the sensations: pleasure; discomfort; pain; tension?  Notice the strongest sensation? What draws your attention? Invite the sensation to have a voice. What do you imagine it would say? I am hungry, I am angry, I am sad etc. Sit and stay with that feeling/sensation for 5 or 10 minutes at least. When thoughts arise come back as a silent observer and “feel/experience.” Be one with the sensation. Imagine you embrace the sensation like a small child or a favorite pet. You cuddle and enjoy being at peace and present. with nothing You have nothing to do. No place you have to be. If thoughts arise, choose to put them aside. Practice this meditation daily to overcome ego. Everything can be taken from a man but one thing. The last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. Viktor Frankl, Psychiatrist, Author Search for Meaning “The greatest discovery of any generation is that a human can alter his life by altering his attitude.” William James, American philosopher and Psychologist In the article “What is Ego Personality” I described ego and how we stay attached. https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/ego-personality/ How to Transcend Ego https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/transcend-ego/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/overcome-your-fear/ An Exercise to Diminish the Ego https://youtu.be/K19_yVtmJK4 BOOKS Michael David Lawrience is the author of Emotional Health: The Secret from Drama, Trauma, and Pain His book provides ways to improve emotional health, ease pain, and stress, heal physical and emotional abuse, and spiritual awakening. 4 Ego Personality Mind States: Compare Resistant Ego to Attitude Thriving Now

What is Ego Personality? Overview of Personality Is your mind in constant thought? Do you believe every thought? This is your personality ego. No ego exists apart from thoughts in your mind. Furthermore, this mind has been completely conditioned from past childhood traumas and emotional wounds. Your ego attaches to these thoughts. In other words, you identify who you are as the sum of your thoughts. I am good or bad. Or I am miserable. I am never good enough. Your ego/thoughts operate like a dysfunctional vehicle. Imagine a 5-year-old child, with no training, driving a car. The car would jerk about, stopping and starting. It would be bumping around not knowing what to do. If you sat in the back-seat, stress and upset would be your daily experience. Did you know your ego lives in a state of constant lack? The ego always wants more. It craves more food, drugs, fame, fun, money or sex etc. Like a bottomless black hole, more is never enough. More About Ego Personality Our ego develops as a child. As we get older it becomes dominant. We identify with it. It is our mind, our thoughts. We are constantly thinking. The ego is who we are. We believe our thoughts are who we are. Moreover, we identify with these thoughts. Our mind is backed up by how we feel and by our emotional states. We know no difference. These constant thoughts and our predominant feeling states are what we call the ego; the I, the me. This me is what we identify as “who I am.” I am a male or female. I am young or I am old. Our ego is “e” – energy; “go” on the go. It is constantly active; never silent from the time we wake up until we go to sleep. Sometimes we can’t even sleep. The mind keeps us from sleeping. We know this as stress, unease and worry. During the day we seldom get any rest either. It keeps us constantly doing from dawn to dusk. We are preoccupied with the past about what we did wrong or the future about what bad might happened. Personality Programming Our ego mind believes what our parents have told us. This maybe we are good or bad. We are lovable or not. A big belief is we are not enough. We are deficit or defective in some or many ways. School and religion further program the childhood beliefs and feelings we have about ourselves. School tells us we are smart or ignorant. Religion tells us we sinners or saints. We will go to hell or heaven. Hell is the past – the misery of our childhoods. Heaven is the future of a paradise; however, we will have to wait. We get have relationships and get married at some point. All our beliefs and feelings about ourselves get triggered in the mirrors of relationship. We suffer more as our mind tells us all the bad things; we knew for certain as truth. Summary of Ego Personality So, we live in the hell of the past and dream about the future being better. We strive doing to get out of the misery of the past. It seems like our life will never change. As a result, we hate our jobs, we hate our bosses, we hate our mates and we hate our lives. Life is a struggle of always doing, surviving the best we know how. At some point, we get exhausted and just want to give up. Depression lingers within. We may even contemplate suicide, as an exit. Our mind, thinking runs our life like a dictator. We live stuck with all the thoughts we believe to be true about ourselves. We believe no way exists out of the prison of our thoughts. When someone criticizes or blames you what can you do? Retaliate or defend? Rather Do Nothing. Then your ego shrinks. You may feel something greater hidden underneath. Is Conscious Ascension Possible 2?

A previous article discussed Awareness, Acceptance, and Embracing. These 3 practices aid in transforming our personality ego. We then begin moving from unconscious into more conscious actions. This article describes the 50% complete surrender to Divine Grace. SURRENDER TO DIVINE GRACE “Divine grace is like sunlight on the side of a building.” Paramahansa Yogananda “Graceful Change is supported stability during effortless change.  … This is done through the power of the one changing the existing paradigm by changing his or her perspective.” The Seer Almine Grace first requires letting go of whatever emotional trigger has arisen. In your interactions with a partner or others, anger may be a recurring pattern. In the past, you fumed inside, cursed or blamed the other person. Now you can choose a different action. On the inbreath with your inner child breathe into where you feel the anger in your body. On the outbreath, imagine releasing the anger into a Violet Fire. Keep breathing and at some point, let go of the anger and pain. Come to a place of 100% surrender. Then Grace from your Divine/Higher Self floods your body. This only occurs with complete 100% surrender. Eventually, we begin shifting from “ME” to “WE.” “WE” involves being of service to benefit others. CONSCIOUS ASCENSION Conscious Ascension requires constant Awareness and Acceptance. This means Embracing our childhood traumas, fears and emotional patterns. It means awareness of thoughts of judgements of ourselves and others. This requires awareness of fears of being unlovable, alone or less than others. Emotions such as anger, frustration, hatred etc. may prevail. Forgiving ourselves and our parents and enemies, however difficult, reaps great peace. Making the above choices daily keeps us on the higher road. The road called the “Road Less Travelled.” The “Road Less Travelled” requires surrendering your personality identity/inner child. You surrender to your Divine/Higher Self: Grace. Note: There is no “DOING” of personal will to force something to happen. “BE” in the present moment. Enjoy it fully; whether challenging or good. Nurture the beauty of your life. Is Conscious Ascension Possible?

How Can We Ever Rise to Conscious Ascension? Some of us, tend to keep repeating the same childhood traumas and fears. This includes emotional patterns, throughout our lives. Our personality and unconscious inner child keep us locked down. This prison of beliefs and emotions limits our life. We never leave our prison to experience freedom. Conscious Ascension involves recognizing and mastering your critical thoughts, fears, unhappiness and traumas. We can live in a higher ever evolving state of feeling better with less suffering. This may be momentary at the beginning. How Do We Experience this Shift? Striving for higher consciousness requires three actions. First your own efforts, spiritual practices and meditation – 25%. Second, spiritual teachers, other people’s assistance and study – 25%. Third, complete surrender to Divine Grace – 50%. Adapted from quote from Yogananda UNCONSCIOUSNESS/INNER CHILD Within our personality psyche lives our inner child. This child, as a remanent of our childhood, wants it’s needs satisfied now. The child has a constant hunger for being loved, seen and heard. Many of us remain unconscious of this child and its needs. Why do we encounter so many difficulties? We have dreams of being different: happy; prosperous and successful. Why do our dreams never manifest? The reason lies with our unconscious inner child. Our inner child has taken control. We, as adults, have the power of controlling our lives. Like driving a car, as adults, we should be in the drivers’ seat. Instead our child jumps into to the drivers’ position. With little life experience, the child drives. Our child, with its need for immediate gratification thus, runs our lives. Our child desires to feel better about “ME.” The “ME” wants benefits for itself now. The “ME’s” thoughts center around what can it get for itself now. It wants recognition/love now. The “ME” wants immediate satisfaction for food, sex, approval, alcohol, drugs etc. now. AWARENESS of the Personality “ME” Quieting our inner “ME” involves a shift in awareness/attention/focus. This requires a shift from an outer focus of constant acquiring more stuff and money. It means we look inside and pay attention to body sensations. We also pay attention to our thoughts, as a silent witness. Meditation, yoga, chi- gong, being in and enjoying nature or going to the beach etc. can assist. Also read  https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/critical-self-talk/ We choose to connect to our Higher Self, our Soul, the Divine, Creation etc. by intent or prayer. It requires daily practice, over time. ACCEPTANCE: Conscious Ascension Acceptance requires developing our abilities to notice our thoughts, emotions and feelings. This involves developing the skill to notice sensations in our physical body. EMBRACING: Conscious Ascension Embracing involves staying present with what occurs within us. We inwardly ask our inner child what it is feeling. Imagine you see, feel or hear this child. Rely on the first impressions you receive. For example, the child may look or feel angry. Invite it to come into your arms. Hold and embrace him/her as you would hold a small child. Coax the child to take a deep breath with you all the way from your belly. Take this breath all the way from the top of your head/crown. Then down through your body and feet into the center/heart of the Earth. Then bring the breath up and send it all the way to your Higher Self or Divine. Do this 3 times. How to Dissolve Victim-Rescuer-Abuser Patterns?

How Do You Create Reality? How do we create/attract victim energy? We also create rescuer-abuser patterns. The energy/frequency we put out through our thoughts and emotions mirrors back to us. Our relationships reflect what we think and feel within ourselves. Many times, these inner sensations may be unconscious to us.   Do you know you have the power to change your inner reality? This then changes what occurs around us.   So, we can react with anger, avoidance or blame the other person. We can see ourselves as victims. Fear, anger, illness, and suffering haunt our every step.   “What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract.” Buddha 3 Methods for Dissolving Victim Patterns 1 Journaling  Draw the triangle diagram Write down victim or rescuer or abuser relationships you experience most for yourself Write down victim or rescuer or abuser relationships you experience most with others 2 How to Dissolve Your Victim Patterns with Self-Help Focusing Note: You may find the Focusing also works for dissolving Rescuer and Abuser patterns.   Focusing – Developed by psychotherapist Eugene Gendlin in 1960’s for therapy. You can learn to use it on your own. Adapt it to become more aware of your victim/shadow patterns.   Focusing involves holding attention on sensations in your body. Breathe into the sensation. Be open, nonjudgmental. Keep coming back to the sensation when your mind wanders. Pay attention to your intuitive knowing’s, images or intuitive sensing.   Develop the ability to spend 15 – 20 minutes at a time.   Like any skill Focusing takes time to develop. Gendlin’s Six Step Focusing Meditative Self-Help Process 1 Clearing a Space: Letting go of all outside cares. Creating a quiet place inside ourselves. Breathe. Notice tension and release it with your breath.   2 Getting a Felt Sense: Ask open ended question. How does this victim/shadow pattern feel like inside my body? Where do I feel it the most? No mind analysis. Wait until you get an intuitive or body sense.   3 Finding a Handle: Wait until you get words, a sensation or an image. You sense may be vague at first.   4 Resonating and Checking: Take the word(s), sensation or image and ask is this it. Keep sensing and checking until you know, see or feel it is the right “fit.”   5 Asking: If necessary, keep asking open ended questions. Keep going back to steps 2,3 & 4 until there is a right “fit.” You feel a temporary increase in tension. There may be a release of tension. Insight or emotions may arise.   6 Receiving: Through out breathe deep into your belly. Breath creates space for Grace and intuitive solutions. Solutions beyond our thinking mind.   Note: Keep practicing Focusing until the victim/shadow pattern eventually dissolves. It will probably be gradual. Notice the small steps with gratitude.   More info on Focusing https://focusing.org/felt-sense/focusing-oriented-psychotherapy/ 3 How to Dissolve Your DNA Victim Patterns? We all have 64 DNA codes. Within our unconscious and bodies, we each have victim patterns. 11 personal out of 64 possible shadow frequencies. These patterns, mental and emotional, rise out of our anger and fears. We express and encounter them through drama and relationship conflicts.   Richard Rudd in his book the “Gene Keys” explains the 64 victim/shadow patterns. You can receive a free profile identifying your specific 11 shadow patterns. You will also receive an intro how to begin to read the profile https://genekeys.com/free-profile/   When we accept and begin dissolving our shadows, our suffering lessens. Also, our gifts and siddhis (flowering of gifts) start emerging.   “Embrace the Shadow, Release the Gift, Embody the Siddhi.” – Richard Rudd   We also feel the effect of the fears of collective humanity. So to, we experience some aspects of the 64 shadows/victim patterns of humanity. 3 How to Dissolve Your DNA Victim Patterns with the Gene Keys? Deprogram your DNA of lower frequency patterns of victim/shadow. Then eventually reprogram with the higher frequencies of your gifts and siddhis   Victim patterns dissolve using three tools. Use these tools to take action: Awareness; Compassion; and Transmutation (ACT)   Journal – Write your impressions in a notebook   1 Awareness Notice when you fall into victim (recall the details) What event occurred? (i.e. disagreement with a partner) What did you feel? (i.e. anger or loss of energy) What thoughts did you have? (i.e. I am never listened to or I better just be quiet) 2 Compassion Be patient with yourself (it takes ongoing effort over time) Accept and embrace your shadow like it’s a small child See how your victim no longer serves you Notice the repeating emotions and beliefs that give the victim/shadow life 3 Transformation Call in the Divine Light/Higher Power or the Gift related to the victim/shadow Notice where you feel the shadow sensations in your body Focus your attention and keep breathing into that area i.e. your belly Stay focusing and breathing until you notice some change Note: Repeat the tool which works for you each time the victim/shadow appears. Divine Light with intent begins to dissolve our shadows. How I Learned Personal Responsibility for Self-Empowerment: Victim-Rescuer-Abuser Victim/Coach/Teacher – How To – Supports – Asks Questions for Clarity Rescuer/Healer – I Can – Empowered – Power to Choose Abuser/Mentor – You Can – Learns – Grows – Acts – Change unconscious to conscious My Wife’s Family History and Our Journey Together My present wife of over 25 years, like me, came from a family of 5. She suffered as a Victim of her mother’s alcoholism. As the eldest, she took on being the mother of the family. She protected her siblings, the best she could, from her mother’s behaviors. In my wife’s role, as a Rescuer, she developed extreme codependency. To Lyn’s credit, as an adult, when she visited her mother, she set strong personal boundaries. That is if her mother had been drinking, Lyn left. She no longer accepted victimization. Lyn graduated from Victim to Teacher. When we met, I had spent ½ my life on a path of emotional and spiritual growth. Lyn had been a party girl seeking outer pleasures. When she embraced an inner path of growth, she zoomed ahead of me. Lyn studied some healing courses. She also attended the Oneness University in India courses 5 times over a period of years. As a result, Lyn connected with her Inner Divine. Her Divine guided her overcoming being a Rescuer and a Codependent. One day after some years Lyn told me she would, “No longer be my emotional body.” That is; I had to be in touch with my own feelings and express them. Personal Responsibility & Self-Empowerment Both Lyn and I have graduated out of our family patterns of Victim and Rescuers. We work now in duo, as Core Energetic Healers and Teachers. Clients experience emotional and spiritual life transformations.   We both have developed our professional gifts as Energy Healers and Spiritual Teachers. We are Empathic and Highly Sensitive to subtle energies. As well, we experience the collective energies of humanity. Lyn reciprocates with her gifts to assist me emotionally in my personal healing. I assist her physical and energetic being. Lyn no longer gets caught in her critical mind or emotional drama. My inner child sometimes still falls into the Victim pit of “poor me.” Lyn loving points this out to me with an inner Zen stick. “Michael you have fallen into the pit again.” I have learned what it feels like down in the emotional swamp of the pit. By intent to raise my consciousness, I come out. On a further note, my inner child still wants recognition for doing a good job. When I see this, I inwardly gather him up in my arms. Then I connect both of us up with our Divine Essence where we just “Be.” I also still wrestle sometimes with wanting to fix and save people. With more consciousness, I have choice for responsibility for greater self-empowerment. I can continue with old patterns which keep me locked into suffering. Or I can choose a new paradigm of evolving beyond suffering. A paradigm of joy in life. https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/empaths/ Drama Triangle https://youtu.be/E_XSeUYa0-8 See Also more ways of overcoming relationship conflict https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser2/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser3/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/trauma/  https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser/ See 3 Methods for Dissolving Victim Patterns https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim/ Power of Choice https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/power-of-choice2/ Core Energetic Healing https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/core-energetic-healing BOOKS Michael David Lawrience is the author of Emotional Health: The Secret from Drama, Trauma, and Pain His book provides ways to improve emotional health, ease pain and, stress, heal physical and emotional abuse, and spiritual awakening. Healing for Empaths

Overcoming Relationship Conflict: Victim-Rescuer-Abuser3

Empaths and extra sensitive adults may find this info useful. Parents with sensitive children also can find it helpful. Regular people can also benefit understanding and overcoming relationship conflict: victim-rescuer-abuser. How I Played Victim-Rescuer-Abuser Roles? As a Rescuer, I desired praise. So, I give away my power in relationships to the other person. I desired being recognized. I felt alone in my family. This feeling of aloneness persisted for about 60 % of my life. As an adult, I believed I needed to take care of myself as I had in my birth family. Being a sensitive child, I retreated inside myself to survive. I keep all thoughts and feelings to myself. My mother told later in life that she thought I was okay because I never said otherwise.  I showed up as a dyed in the wool rescuer. In addition, I believed myself flawed: low intelligence, lowest self-esteem and incapable of loving. I needed to fix myself by always studying and improving myself. This meant on a intellectual, emotional and spiritual levels. As a Rescuer/Enabler, I desired praise. So, I give away my power in relationships to the other person. I feared saying what I thought and felt. Most of all I wanted to be seen and heard as I felt invisible in my family. I desired being recognized. I allowed women to berate and criticize me for my lack of ability to know what I felt inside. My inner child blamed and beat upon himself. Unconsciously, I functioned as a full-blown codependent. In relationships, I paid credit cards and took out loans for cars for the person. I also looked after the person’s physical needs and give them a place to live. As a Rescuer I assisted as chief caretaker, a constant “doer and a “fixer.” Like an addict my inner child got a temporary hit; a brief feeling of satisfaction for doing well. Rescuer-Victim Roles I learned the roles of rescuer and victim well. From a young child to well into middle age, I persisted in these roles. I carried a lot of repressed anger also. Throughout my life in the victim role I alternated between being in the “victim pit” or anger. Anger represents the other polarity of victim. Anger abuses when inflicted on a partner. As an adult I took on the role of a “doer.” I accepted the codependent pattern of always wanting to fix others. I accepted the role of Rescuer and savior. Lacking self-love, I got a “fix” from helping the women in my relationships.   In my major codependent pattern, I always wanted unconsciously for the woman to tell me what a great job I had done. I gave money, cars, took on debt, provided food and shelter when the women in my relationships. I also sacrificed thousands of dollars in my association with men. Overcoming Relationship Conflict: Victim-Rescuer-Abuser Roles I had 4 major relationships with women lasting about 3 years each. In 3 relationships, I existed in a state of basically numbness. I feared being vulnerable and expressing feelings. I took on the Victim role. My partners fell into Perpetrators/Critics blaming me for my lack of expression. In truth, these women had little skill in being vulnerable. They seldom expressed their feelings aside from frustration and anger. In my second relationship, a few months of hypnosis finally give me strength and the courage. I requested the woman to move out. I had provided for all her living needs for 3 years. With the third relationship, I keep being the Rescuer. I wanted the woman to become healthier physically. She had experienced the victimization of severe physical abuse from her previous husband. She introduced me to the concept of codependency recovery and inner child healing. This benefited me greatly. I fell into the 4th, relationship with no physical attraction what so ever. I believed we had a common service goal of creating a healing institute. This woman had been severely mistreated by a narcissistic mother. On the outside she presented as a successful career woman. On the inside, she had an extreme fragile self-esteem. As Persecutor she blamed and criticized a lot. Through overcoming victimization, I learned to begin to say “No.” I set healthy boundaries, to know my needs and nurture/self-care for myself. https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/dysfunctional-family-roles/ Drama Triangle https://youtu.be/E_XSeUYa0-8 See Also more ways of overcoming relationship conflict https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser2/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser4/ See 3 Methods for Dissolving Victim Patterns https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim/ Codependency Recovery https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/codependency-recovery/ Core Energetic Healinghttps://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/core-energetic-healing/ BOOKS Michael David Lawrience is the author of Emotional Health: The Secret from Drama, Trauma, and Pain His book provides ways to improve emotional health, ease pain and, stress, heal physical and emotional abuse, and spiritual awakening. Healing for Empaths

Overcoming Relationship Conflict: Victim-Rescuer-Abuser2

Empaths and extra sensitive adults may find this info useful. Parents with sensitive children also can find it helpful. Regular people can also benefit understanding and overcoming relationship conflict: victim-rescuer-abuser. What Victim-Rescuer-Abuser Roles I Learned in My Family? These roles learned are passed on down from our father and mother’s lineages. I carried a tendency of victim-rescuer-abuser in the my DNA. Father victim of his parental wounding from his mother. He looked after his mother’s needs on trip from Russia to US – Rescuer/Codependent. He suffered as a Victim of his alcohol addiction, having no awareness how to heal. My father seldom talked to me. He also aside from anger never expressed other emotions. I believed my father felt a lot of shame as a child. He may have had a lot of repressed anger and also self-hatred which surfaced after a few drinks of alcohol. I recognize now that he experienced deep emotional wounding. My father I sense felt worthless and the “lowest man on the totem pole.” I say this because as a teen I felt ashamed that everyone knew my father as an alcoholic. As a empath/sensitive I took on his feelings of shame as my own. Compared to the other boys at school, I felt like “lowest man on the totem pole.” I kept this all to myself. I also thought of myself as stupid as the smartest boy in grade 12 had a lot higher IQ that me. Persecutor: The Bully As a Persecutor, my father attempted to overcome his powerless and shame. He became belligerent with his drinking buddies in town. Ongoing for 20 years, he bullied and emotionally and verbally abused my mother. He denied his inadequacies by victimizing my mother. So I know he felt like a Victim. He did express that the world owned him a living.   Mother, as young girl, became caretaker/rescuer of 5 other children when her mother died young. She lived on a farm with lots of back breaking work from dawn to dusk. In our family, my mother took on the victim/martyr role. As a teen she said to me our loud one time, “Look at all I’ve sacrificed for you kids.”  I learned unconsciously from a young age to take on parental role. Without knowing it, I filled in for my father. I learned to be a victim. As young boy, I made unconscious decisions to feel somewhat safe. I stayed quiet, expressed nothing and repressed my feelings. My anger I repressed at the deepest levels. For survival I allowed myself to be a victim of my father’s anger. I decided it was unsafe to express anger. As a result, I carried many layers of anger throughout my life. Only extreme provocation evoked a state of rage. https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/dysfunctional-family-roles/ Drama Triangle https://youtu.be/E_XSeUYa0-8 https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/wounded-inner-child-2/ See Also more ways of overcoming relationship conflict https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser3/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser4/ See 3 Methods for Dissolving Victim Patterns https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/core-energetic-healing/ BOOKS Michael David Lawrience is the author of Emotional Health: The Secret from Drama, Trauma, and Pain His book provides ways to improve emotional health, ease pain and, stress, heal physical and emotional abuse, and spiritual awakening. Healing for Empaths

Overcoming Relationship Conflict: Victim-Rescuer-Abuser

Overcoming Relationship Conflict: Victim-Rescuer-Abuser People unconsciously play or manipulate others in roles of victim, rescuer and abuser. Empaths and extra sensitive adults may find this info useful. Parents with sensitive children also can find it helpful. Regular people can also benefit understanding and overcoming relationship conflict: victim-rescuer-abuser. It is possible to overcome these roles. Can you conceive of evolving beyond drama and suffering? Victims – Victims depend on a Rescuer/Savior It is our inner child who plays the victim. The inner child lives within our psyche as the child age approximately age 3 – 6 from our past childhood. A victim looks for a rescuer; someone to save them. My inner child looked for fellow pit dwellers – other Poor Me’s to live in misery. As a child & teen I wanted rescue from the daily farm chores morning to night. I had unconscious displaced anger towards my mother for making me work all the time. The anger originated really towards my father for abandoning his role. A father has responsibility for the protection and safety of the family. Overcoming relationship conflict, victims encounter challenges letting go of suffering. They have little awareness of how they continuing their patterns of suffering. They may feel they have no power to change these patterns. Rescuers – Rescuers yearn for the helpless to save Caretakers, Doers, Enablers, Fixers, Saviors – “Let me help you!” Rescuers as parents may tend avoid setting boundaries for their children. They neglect setting healthy personal boundaries, knowing & taking care of their own needs. Rescuers tend being codependents. Codependency is an excessive reliance on other people. It is reliance for approval and a sense of identity Overcoming relationship conflict, I often felt extreme fatigue from overdoing. I felt like a victim/martyr with anger festering underneath. Persecutors/Abusers – Persecutors need scapegoats Blamers, Bullies, Controllers, Critics, – “It’s all your fault!” Persecutors criticize and get angry. Persecutors can be over critical parents. They may also be narcissists; they focus only on getting their needs met. Overcoming relationship conflict, persecutors have challenges being flexible. Challenges also include being vulnerable or assisting in problem solving. My family patterns: Victim-Rescuer-Abuser Grew up in a family filled with conflict. Coped by making an unconscious decision to keep my mouth shut Repressed my feelings. Numbed out from life.  My mother raised 5 kids as well as did all the house and farm work. This coincided of feeding cattle and milking cows twice a day. Harvesting the grain in the fields and raising huge gardens. As the oldest I unconsciously took on the role of father in the family. My father, an alcoholic, spent most of his time in town drinking in the beer pillar. When not in town, he had his bottles of rye whiskey hidden in the barn. In my early teens, my father, as an abuser would come home drunk and yell and fight with my mother. My mother as a victim would take it for a little while. Then the roles would switch she would blame my father for drinking. He would then be the victim. Note: Someone takes on persecutor. Roles can switch. My father persecuted my mother as victim. Then often my mother blamed my father for always drinking. My mother would take on the rescuer role also and want my father to stop drinking. It was impossible for him. He carried such deep emotional wounds from his childhood. For all his life his addiction ran his life. This out pictured in alternating between abuser and victim. For 20 years my mother never stopped wanting to fix my father. Peace never existed in the household, only brief respites from verbal conflict. During holiday meals there was no or little conversation. A low-level depression hung over the whole family. https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/dysfunctional-family-roles/ See Also more ways of overcoming relationship conflict https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser2/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser3/ https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim-rescuer-abuser4/ See 3 Methods for Dissolving Victim Patterns https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/victim// Core Energetic Healing  https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/core-energetic-healing/ Drama Triangle https://youtu.be/E_XSeUYa0-8 Life Purpose https://www.emotionalhealthtips.com/living-your-life-purpose/ BOOKS Michael David Lawrience is the author of Emotional Health: The Secret from Drama, Trauma, and Pain His book provides ways to improve emotional health, ease pain and, stress, heal physical and emotional abuse, and spiritual awakening.
