What is the Phenomenon of Spiritual Awakening Sweeping the Planet–Part 2?

Spiritual AwakeningThis is part 2 of What is the Phenomenon of Spiritual Awakening Sweeping the Planet?

You may ask what is the difference we experience before awakening and then after awakening? Basically before awakening we perceive from separation, after awakening we perceive from a consciousness of unity. In addition, before awakening, people on a path of consciousness development focus on dissolving unconscious untrue beliefs, negative feelings, and painful memories on a cellular level. After awakening development continues healing remaining patterns.

Another major change occurs in our emotions, people move from emotional reaction to being in a more neutral state. People also experience their personality sense of being a separate dissolving.

Before awakening, we face our emotional and mental conditioning mirrored back to us through life situations. After awakening, we face our remaining conditioning. The difference being we now have more awareness and thus the choice to stay in reaction or shift to neutrality.

In regards to awakening something different has been occurring since 2003 when Sri Amma/Bhagavan, founder of the Oneness University in India, began giving enlightenment to the public. Dasas, guides at the Oneness University, give Oneness Blessings or Deeksha, as well as others from around the world after having attended the Oneness University.

Arjuna Ardagh, Awakening into Oneness, describes the Oneness Blessing as a transfer of Divine Energy from one person to another. The Blessing can be given by touch, through the eyes, or through the power of intention, resulting in healing, peace, and overall well-being.

Both Bhagavan and his wife Amma hold the Divine Grace, which powers the Oneness Blessings. Bhagavan says that awakening can only occur through a change in brain functioning - an activation of the frontal lobes, and a deactivation of the parietal lobes, which happens over time through the Oneness Blessings. A type of rewiring occurs in the mind, at the mental level, and there is a rewiring of how we sense and perceive on an emotional level, states Bhagavan.

Spiritual AwakeningChristian Opitz, Neurophysicist, confirms that Deeksha initiates a neurobiological change in the brain. He states, With the blocking of the parietal lobes a feeling of expanded consciousness is produced. The stimulation of the frontal lobes also releases dopamine, the essential neurotransmitter that creates a feeling of bliss.

I can only hint at the experience of awakening for it goes beyond the mind and mental understanding. For a few, it occurs quickly and produces a permanent state. Yet, others experience partial awakening and later undergo further deepening states. Adyashanti, a teacher of awakening, says, As I’ve mentioned, this experience of awakening can be just a glimpse or it can be sustained over time.

Maybe some of the confusion about awakening stems from the fact it will be different for each one of us. Sri Amma/Bhagavan has said that given over seven billion people on the planet in 2011 means over seven billion different awakenings, each unique.

The vision of Sri Amma/Bhagavan involves at least 1% of the world’s population – 70,000 people – by the year 2012 awakening. This would allow for a shift of mass consciousness to occur.

Will you be part of that shift?
