Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 8 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Mal Duane whose book Alpha Chick: Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Power launches on Amazon on Tuesday February 14, 2012.
Mal Duane has triumphed over devastating life challenges to become an Alpha Chick extraordinaire. After having struggled with alcoholism as a young woman, Mal now has a dream marriage, a highly-successful business, and as a certified Professional Recovery Coach, is deeply involved with helping women discover and use their connection with the divine power to redefine their lives and step away from their pain.
Mal also serves clients through the multi-million dollar real estate company that she built from scratch. As she strongly believes in educating women, she built a school in Konjila, West Africa that educates a hundred students annually, and created Holly’s Gift, an educational assistance fund, which will receive proceeds from the sale of each copy of Alpha Chick.
Alpha Chick, Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Poweris a model for any woman who dreams of having happiness, success, and fulfillment. It clearly guides the reader step-by-step in the process of becoming her own unique brand of Alpha Chick, using Mal’s simple 5-step formula for self-worth, freedom and transformation.
The book is coming to Amazon on Tuesday February 14th, 2012 – Valentine’s Day. Mal says, “I chose Valentine’s Day because I wanted women to give themselves the gift of self-love on that day.”
Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Mal when I got to ask on the subject of shifting from pain to power, loving relationships and recovery. I hope you enjoy it.
Michael Lawrience: How can we shift from pain into empowerment?
I know that this is the greatest lesson I have learned in my life which I now share with you. This remarkable formula is the foundation for personal transformation. They are simple and easy to do as well as tremendously effective.
Focus: Go within daily and tap into the divine consciousness that you have through prayer or meditation.
Acceptance: If you can accept what has happened in your life you free yourself from the
past which no longer serves you. You are then able to develop a new attitude that will empower you in the present.
Intentions: When you set an intention, it has soul behind it rather than wishing for something to happen. You must identify what those intentions are.
Thoughts: It has been discussed in detail in many works, the power of your thoughts. Since you can only hold one thought at a time, why not make it a good one.
Healing and Helping: Once you begin to heal, to hold on to that power you must now turn and give it away to others. Teach them what you have learned.
If you commit to doing this simple but powerful process, you can transform your life; become the deliberate creator of everything you want.
Michael Lawrience: Explain the importance for success in relationships of women loving themselves?
Mal Duane: The most important relationship we have in life is with ourselves. If we do not love ourselves it is impossible to give love to others. When we feel good about ourselves we attract people who appreciate us into our lives. Self-esteem/self-love is the root of all success or evil for women. Most women who suffer from addiction do so because of a lack of self-love. They feel unworthy and therefore do not feel they are able to attract goodness into their lives.
Michael Lawrience: What beginning action steps start us on the road to recovery?
Mal Duane: Admitting that you need to address something that has taken over your life. It could be a substance or a failed relationship. When most of your thoughts and behaviors are controlled by something other than you, it is time to look for the truth. Medical attention may be required to start your path of recovery and should not be ignored. This is a time when a spiritual practice is so important. In conjunction with support group meetings, the results can be so effective. When you tap into the truth of what is happening in your life, the hold on you becomes less, opening your spirit to lead you in a different direction. We all can recover. It is not an instant fix but requires consistency and commitment.
